Silverwood Care

FAQs

We answer the questions to help put your mind at ease.

As part of our business contingency plan and to meet requirements, we introduce a small select group of carers to support your needs, as this ensures continuity of care and allows the staff to have their rest times, holidays and sickness leave.

Care support workers are regularly monitored though competency checks including assessments, spot checks, observations, supervisions and appraisals to monitor their performance to ensure they are meeting our and your standards Enhanced background checks are carried out before employment starts. Service users are regularly contacted for feedback.

We are very flexible with carers and provide rotas in advance to ensure they can plan their journey to you. We are able to track carer's and set their rotas to avoid delays and lateness. However we understand delays are possible and we will seek to notify at the earliest opportunity to put you at ease.

Feel free to speak to our office staff who are on hand to guide you and set up an no-obligation assessment to discuss any care needs your or your relative may have.

We can discuss this during the initial assessment carried out over the phone or in the comfort of your own home. Cost of care is dependent on a variety of factors including complexity of care conditions. Home-care is usually more cost-effective and person-centered than residential care.

Care support workers are supervised until they have been signed-off as competent by a manager or senior member of staff. We carry out regular spot checks and competency assessments and incorporate these into our supervisions which allows us to gauge staff performance. Your feedback is vital and plays an importance role in ensuring our care support workers are meeting our standards.
